Bibliography Situationism:

A good overview of the organizational and artistic activities of the Lettrist International and the Situationist International is provided by Ohrt (1990), Kaufmann (2001), and Hussey (2001). Hollstein (1969), Marcus (1989), Briegleb (1993), and Hecken (2006a and 2006b) connect the aspirations of the Situationist avant-garde with other countercultural groups (such as the Provos and punks) and their ideologies and lifestyles.


For a more philosophical analysis of Situationist theory, see Plant (1992). Essays about various Situationist subjects are offered by Ohrt (1999), McDonough (2002), and the French journal, Archives & Documents Situationnistes (2001ff.).


A few former members of the Lettrist International—Brau (1968) and Mension (1998)—and the Situationist International—Zimmer (1984) and Kunzelmann (1998)—have recalled their past in historical and autobiographical sketches.
