Bibliography Environmental Movement:

Jamison et al. (1990) offer an exemplary analysis of the early development of the modern environmental movement in Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands, but there is, unfortunately, no comparable work in English on other European countries.

Flam (1994) presents analyses of anti-nuclear movements in the major western European states. Richardson and Rootes (1995) describe and analyze the development of Green parties. Rootes (2004) presents an overview of the social scientific literature on environmental movements.

Although van Koppen and Markham (2007) is focused upon nature protection organizations, it offers up-to-date accounts of most of the major players in environmental movements in eight European states and the United States. Rootes (2007) brings together analyses of reported environmental protests in seven states in the years from 1988.
