Bibliography Scandinavia:

The development of literature on 1968 in Scandinavia is quite well underway in Sweden, and Denmark and Norway are currently catching up. For those not proficient in Scandinavian languages, however, there is little available.

The most influential Swedish book remains Salomon (1996) on the Vietnam Movement, covering important aspects of the Swedish experience. Josefsson (1996) describes the Swedish student revolt thoroughly, and Östberg (2002) has written a short overview of the years around 1968. For those not reading Swedish, Etzemüller (2005) gives good insight to the Swedish events in his comparison between Germany and Sweden.

In Denmark, Nielsen (1991) compares Denmark and Germany and focuses on the integrative elements of the Danish reactions to 1968 stretching well into the 1970s. Apart from that, Andersen and Olsen (2004) offer an anthology that gives an idea about the different interpretations of 1968, though not much actual history of the period. Other accounts consist of a coedited issue of the journal Den jyske historiker about the 1960s, Opbrud i 1960erne (no. 101, 2003), Jensen and Jorgensen (2007) on the student revolt and its aftermath, and my dissertation on the concept of nation on the Left in Denmark and Sweden, Transformations and Crises (2004).

In Norway, the newly published Førland and Korsvik (2006) anthology fills a gap in the research. Otherwise the books are few: Sjöll (2005) has published a book on the Maoist movement and the anti-EEC movement is described in Bjørklund (1982). The Norwegian students are described in the anthology by Hjeltnes.
